Journey to the edge of the room

Journey to the edge of the room

The subjects of this project are people who rarely leave their homes.

Some of them work remotely; others live off their relatives. They are very different people, but they all have one thing in common: they “live” on the internet.

Some have many friends, but they mostly interact with them online or at home. Others have chosen the path of the modern hermit.

I photographed the subjects in their apartments with their pets and surrounded by their favorite things. I asked each of them the same question: why did they choose this lifestyle?

Below each photo is the subject’s age and the number of years they have been officially unemployed.

Today, the internet influences the lives of most people, but my subjects’ lifestyle is an extreme form of internet addiction and social alienation.

With the development of digital technology, this is becoming an increasingly prevalent trend, especially in large cities, where the pace of life is too fast, stress levels are high, and there are simply too many people.
