RUSENG

Natalia Ershova (b. 1988) is an artist who works with documentary and conceptual photography, installation, and mockumentaries. In her projects, she explores themes of identity transformation, technological utopias, and social isolation. Her work often draws on the aesthetics of dystopian fiction and visual studies. She pays particular attention to vulnerable social groups as a reflection of the structural distortions of contemporary society. She graduated from Russian State University for the Humanities with a degree in journalism. She trained at the school of Elena Sukhoveeva and Viktor Khmel (2016–2017), at the DocDocDoc school (2019–2020), the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA, 2020–2022), and at the VII Academy (2024). Natalia’s work has been presented at international festivals and exhibitions, including FORMAT (UK), Encontros da Imagem (Portugal), LagosPhoto (Nigeria), Getxophoto (Spain), and Photovisa (Russia), as well as at institutions in Germany, Norway, Indonesia, and other countries. Finalist and winner of international competitions such as the BarTur Photo Award, Kuala Lumpur Photo Awards, Prix Levallois, and ND Awards. Recipient of a scholarship from the Russian Ministry of Culture in 2021, 2023, 2024, and 2025. Born in Moscow. Lives and works in Belgrade.
